Para-standing tennis players from across the globe are invited to Greensboro, North Carolina for the Carolinas Adaptive Standing Tennis Tournament, taking place in Fall 2025. This special event is designed for individuals with physical disabilities who compete using adaptive techniques—whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game.
What is Para Standing Tennis?
Para Standing Tennis is a form of adaptive tennis that provides access to the sport for individuals with physical disabilities, using modifications such as:
Adaptive equipment (e.g., prosthetic devices)
Modified rules (e.g., allowing two bounces)
Adjusted court size (for those with limited mobility)
Flexible match formats
Our goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and competitive environment for all levels of experience. Whether you’re looking to reignite a passion for tennis or try something new, this tournament offers the chance to engage, compete, and connect through sport.
Presented by GRETA (Guilford Regional Tennis Association) in partnership with Pinetop Neighborhood Resort and Greensboro Parks & Recreation, this event marks a first-of-its-kind tournament in the Southeast for standing adaptive athletes.
We warmly invite all para-standing tennis athletes to be a part of this exciting event.

Transition to Adulthood Event
Join us for a powerful day of learning, connection, and empowerment designed specifically for NC high school students with disabilities and their parents or caregivers. As youth prepare to transition from school to adulthood, this event offers essential tools, resources, and information to support a successful journey into post-secondary life.
Meals and Materials will be provided!
Through interactive workshops, engaging speakers, resource exhibits, and networking opportunities, participants will explore topics such as:
Transition Planning & Self-Advocacy
Employment and Job Readiness
Post-Secondary Education Options
Independent Living Skills
Financial Planning & Benefits Navigation
Adult Healthcare Transitions
Participants will attend both large group and separate parent/youth breakout sessions. Everyone will also have the opportunity to visit with a variety of disability related exhibitors. This event will empower attendees to better prepare for life after high school.
Legs Financial will be presenting on Special Needs Financial Planning at 1:15pm.

2025 Triad Run/Walk for Autism
Join us for the fun on September 27 at Jaycee Park in Greensboro!
This amazing and fun-filled community event will improve the lives of autistic children and adults with autism by raising funds to support local programs. Registration continues through noon on Wednesday, Sept. 24, with a registration fee of $40 and a free Run/Walk t-shirt in sizes as supplies last.
You must register online by noon on Wednesday, September 24, to participate.
The Triad Run/Walk for Autism will be held at Jaycee Park in Greensboro.
Event Schedule:
8 a.m. - Packet pick-up begins
9 a.m. - 5K competitive and non-competitive runs begin
9:15 a.m. - Fun Run/Walk begins
An awards ceremony for 5K race and top fundraising individuals and teams will follow.

As many as 1 in 36 children may be diagnosed with autism in the United States. You can make a difference in the lives of people with autism, their families, and communities by supporting this event and asking for donations.

Financial Planning Workshop
Join us for the Financial Planning Workshop for Families with Special Needs on Saturday, September 6, from 12:00–2:30 pm at Transform Greensboro (111 Bain St., Greensboro, NC 27406) in the Carolina Room. Legs Financial will lead workshop on important topics such as budgeting, letters of intent, estate planning, and government benefits. Participants will receive handouts and resources.
Afterward, parent facilitators will introduce the parent support groups they lead and answer any questions you may have. Light refreshments will be provided. We understand that childcare can be difficult, and if you need to bring your children, that is absolutely fine. This workshop is designed with adults and adult children in mind, so we hope to keep most of the seating available for those who are there to learn and benefit from the information.
Registration is required, and if your plans change, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to another family.
Abilities Tennis at the US Open!
Abilities Tennis has been selected for the 2025 USTA Net Generation On Court Experience at the US Open in New York!
We’re taking 24 athletes and their parent/caregiver or coach for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be on center court at the US Open on Labor Day, September 1, for a special short court demo before the night match.
2025 Winston-Salem Open: Abilities Tennis On-Court Exhibition
We are excited to be back on the courts at the Winston-Salem Open on Wednesday night! Our exhibition clinic will be on two courts from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. There will be one short court and one full court. We are then invited to stay and watch the night matches.

In 2011 what was formerly a parking lot adjacent to a football stadium, the Winston-Salem Open emerged. Now, it stands as an award-winning, international tennis event providing fans and players with a world-class experience in the heart of the North Carolina. The event serves as the final ATP Tour stop prior to the US Open.

Shine! Theatre Camp
SHINE! Theatre Camp is a two-week theatre experience for campers with special needs ages 6 and up and their siblings. In partnership with Winston Salem Theatre Alliance, SHINE campers learn all about theatre while auditioning, rehearsing, and ultimately performing a weekend of shows at the Ihrie Theatre.
Campers are the stars and get to experience everything from costumes, sets, props, wearing microphones, stage lights, and having a live audience. Come out and support the performers as the present The Little Mermaid!
Abilities Tennis Night at Cary Tennis Classic 2025
Join us for the 10th annual Abilities Tennis Night at the Cary Tennis Classic. The Cary Tennis Classic is a combined format USTA Pro Circuit event that features top ATP Men and WTA Women Professionals playing together in one tournament for the second time in North Carolina and the Southeast! Many of these CTC players will be preparing for and competing in the US Open in New York City.

Abilities Tennis Clinics in Greensboro
